WELCOME TO AGRO CLIMATE RESEARCH CENTRE, TAMIL NADU AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, COIMBATORE


Genesis:

The Department of Agricultural Meteorology was established on 9th November 1998 for doing research on aerobic meteorology, hydrometeorology, micro-meteorology, crop production meteorology (crop-weather studies), soil climatology, microbial meteorology, herbicide meteorology, forest meteorology, horticultural meteorology, animal meteorology, seed meteorology and other related subjects. The department acts as centre for the different agromet observatories of TNAU and strengthens the agricultural meteorology education for the State of Tamil Nadu. Regional forecast based agro-advisory services are made in collaboration with India Meteorological Deparment, Pune. The Department was renamed as AGRO CLIMATE RESEARCH CENTRE from June 2007.
