Under Graduate courses are taught in Plant Breeding and Genetics, Seed Science and technology, Biotechnology and Horticulture. UG students are  encouraged to pursue carrier in Plant Breeding and Genetics.

Based on the research efforts done in the Department, three high yielding rice varieties (TRY 1, TRY (R) 2 and TNAU Rice TRY 3), one Ragi variety (TRY 1) and one Guava variety (TRY 1), all with good tolerance with sodicity have been released. The rice variety TNAU Rice TRY 3 is very popular among the farming community.
