The Department of Food Process Engineering was started during the year 1974 for the development of technologies and equipment in the field of Agricultural and Food Engineering and disseminating the technologies to the farmers, industries, and other stake holders.
The department contributes its major share of teaching courses to B.Tech. (Food Process Engg./Food Technology) degree programme.
The department offers M.Tech and Ph.D Degree programmes in Processing and Food Engineering.
Through the research work, about 40 agricultural processing gadgets / technologies have been developed by this department since its inception.
We are continuously focusing towards modern methods of teaching, frontier areas of research and dissemination of developed technologies.
