To facilitate the students in improving their employability and career skills, the Placement cell of AEC&RI is conducting various workshops and Motivational talks, Soft Skills Development, Personality Development, and Career Counselling and also facilitates the students in getting trained for specific examinations like Banking Examinations, Group I Services Examinations and the like.
The following measures are being taken by the college to increase the employability of the students.
- Communication skills of the students are improved through spoken English classes.
- Personality Development programmes in aptitude, reasoning, GD, Mock interview are conducted.
- Spoken Hindi classes, Bank Coaching and Autocad class are conducted.
Skills contributing to employability
Employability skills are acquired through training and practice. Each course in the curriculum is designed with practical session to have hands on experience. Also courses of project work, experiential learning, industrial /institutional internship and study tours are included.
Students are trained in soft skills as part of curriculum and also through HR sessions that are conducted apart from class hours. Coaching for writing competitive examinations, personality development is conducted through grant obtained from ICAR and TN government.
Skills, personal attributes of student
Students are holistically developed by constant training in personality development through seminars, workshops and invited lectures by distinguished trainers in the above mentioned arena. It has been found in recent days that the lacuna is found drastically in attitude rather than in knowledge and skills. So they are guided by the faculty members to develop a sense of belonging and ownership towards the organization where they are placed so that they perform well in their job and also develop good will among their employers, thereby increasing the employability chances for the forth coming batches.
Students are imparted skills and training to enhance subject knowledge in employability point of view. Students are given ‘field study’, ‘experiential learning sessions’, ‘Rural Agricultural Engineering Work Experience’ programmes etc., in order to provide them with hands on experience.
Short term study tours and All India tours are conducted every year in order to expose them to various industries. Students also conduct group and individual projects and Operation Work out programmes in order to bridge the gap between class room learning and real life situations. AV aids are used judiciously for enhanced teaching skills.
Facilities and university environment that attributes for personality development
The college has filled with an aura that are conducive to personality development.
The faculty members are encouraged to attend training programmes so that they can guide the students well in an outside the classroom. The weekly yoga programmes and the mentoring sessions of the teachers help students open up the issues that hinder their advancement. The NSS, the stay in the villages during their SIP, the surveys they conduct, the observation that go hand in hand with such experiences and the review and the response they make as a result of the retrospection they make after the experiences are all more than a longitudinal study one can make after severe toil of research.
