Dr. K. Venkatesan, graduated from Tamil Nadu Agicultural University, Coimbatore and obtained his post graduate and doctoral degree from the same University. He has rich experience in teaching, research and extension work in the field of Horticulture for over 23 years. He is working in the field of “Crop improvement, Crop management and Post harvest technology of Horticultural Crops”. At present he is heading the division of Spices and Plantation Crops. He is handling classes to Under Graduate, Post Graduate (Both M.Sc and Ph.D Programmes) and he has guided twelve M.Sc (Hort.) students and one Ph.D students so far. He had experience in the field of integrated nutrient management for fertigation studies in coconut, evaluation of turmeric, coriander and curry leaf varieties under irrigated and rainfed condition. He has more than 25 publications in peer reviewed international and national journals. He is the recipient of different developmental programmes in field of spices and plantation crops. He is the project leader for different GOI schemes sponsored by Coconut Development Board, NADP, DCCD and DASD.
