The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Vriddhachalam is the second KVK under the establishment of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and started functioning from 03.06.1985 at Vriddhachalam with financial assistance of ICAR and this KVK is servicing the farming community of Cuddalore district for over 36 years and it has an area of 50 ha in which 872.26 m2 under buildings and 208.66 m2 under demo units and remaining 49.9 ha under crop cultivation and agro forestry. The region of the KVK is lies on North Eastern of Tamil Nadu and in the Cuddalore district and they are having varied soil type of sandy, clay and sandy clay loam. Various farming systems are taken in the district Viz., Command areas, Irrigated agricultural systems, Rain fed agricultural systems, Livestock production and Inland aquaculture.
