Dr. K. Subramanian is the Director of Research & NABARD Chair Professor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India. He did his Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa, Canada, utilizing one of the most prestigious Canadian Commonwealth Scholarships (1993-1998). He has more than 32 years of research and teaching experiences in TNAU and expertise in the fields of nanotechnology in agriculture and soil biology.

Dr. K.S. Subramanian was the Founder Head of the Department of Nano Science & Technology and assisted Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in developing a Research Framework of Nanotechnology Platform in Agriculture. He is the Principal Investigator several International and National Projects worth over Rs. 30 Crores (5 million USD) funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), International Development Research Center (IDRC), DST Nano Mission besides ICAR. His has significantly contributed for the development of nano-technologies for fruit preservation, design & fabrication of nano-agri-inputs, nano-based on-site detection kits. He is one of the core committee members in Regulatory Framework for the usage of agri-nano products in the country and members in several governing professional and academic organizations. He serves as the member in RAC of IISS, Bhopal, DST Nano Mission, DBT and Nano-fertilizer policy of the country.

Dr. K.S. Subramanian published over 180 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and six books on Nanotechnology, participated as a lead speaker in various national and international conferences, visited several countries including USA, Canada, China, Taiwan, Netherlands, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Cambodia, Malaysia, UAE and Sri Lanka, and received more than 12 awards to his credentials the notable ones being Commonwealth and TANSA awards. He has more than 15 technologies developed and 2 filed patents to his credit. His publications highly referred in the field of agricultural nanotechnology and mycorrhiza-plant interactions.
