ABOUT DEPARTMENT
GENESIS
The Department of Crop Protection comprising of Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology came into existence at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Kudumiyanmalai from 01.06.2019 onwards vide the Proceedings No. A6 / 09619 (II) / 2019 dt. 10.06.2019 of the O/o of the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore 641 003.
MANDATES
- To offer Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology courses for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture.
- To take up research on the location specific problems for the different ecological situations in Pudukkottai and neighbouring districts particularly in drought mitigation.
- To provide plant protection advisory services, trainings and special lectures to farmers, extension functionaries of the State Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Non Governmental and Private Organizations.
