Ph.D Course Programme

The Doctoral degree programme in Food Science and Nutrition was introduced in 1988 following the introduction of the Masters program in 1984 to provide higher education opportunities for the M.Sc. (FSN) program. The doctoral program focuses on developing competent scholars who have the necessary aptitude to work in national and international academic institutes in the field of teaching, research and community work. The College offers a comprehensive education program from the Under Graduate to the Doctoral level, in Food Science and Nutrition with focus towards overall sustainable community development in terms of achieving food and nutrition security. The doctoral program in Food Science and Nutrition would facilitate to strengthen the subject area and lead to Human Resource Development competent to take up responsibilities in academics, the competitive food processing sector and in nutritional studies.
