Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) had begun as an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai in 1876 and blossomed as a College in Coimbatore, during 1906. The foundation stone for the Madras Agricultural College and Research Institute was laid in Coimbatore on 24th September, 1906 by the then Governor of Fort St. George, Sir Arthur Lawley. Read more
