Agriculture is the backbone of India whereas mechanization is the backbone of Agriculture. Department of Farm machinery & Power Engineering is the largest in terms strength, human resource and up to date infrastructure of AEC & RI, Kumulur. The Department of Farm Machinery & Power Engineering aims to provide a strong foundation in the fundamentals of farm machinery. The principle of design of farm machines, tractor and automotive engines, Farm Machinery & equipment, operational and maintenance of tractor and other farm implement principles are taught through the theory and laboratory classes by a strong team of Well Qualified and Experienced Teaching Staff and the Technical Support Staff. The Department has well equipped laboratories such as Basic Workshop Lab, Machines Shop Lab, electrical and electronic lab, tractor lab, plant protection lab etc. to perform the practical to understand the construction and concepts. The department is involved in external funded research and other university research projects for the benefit of stake holders like farmers, manufacturers, startups, entrepreneurs. The department provides the students with a number of opportunities to develop their overall skill by involving them self in fabrication of machines through experiential learning.
