I joined TNAU as Assistant Professor on 11.07.1997 after completing Ph.D in Agricultural Extension. Before joining TNAU, I served as a scientist in ICAR under Agricultural Research Service at CIFT, Cochin for a brief period. I assumed the position of Professor and Head, Department of Social Sciences, AC&RI, Killikulam on 14.11.2018.
Having completed a couple of Post Doc positions in Italy and Australia, I wish to train my students in the frontier areas of Agricultural Extension and equip the students to become young scientists with expertise to do high calibre research. I encourage all PG students to participate in academic conferences and impart confidence in doing presentations and writing skills.
The Department of Social Sciences, AC&RI, Killikulam is harbored with Scientists drawn from multiple disciplines namely, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness management, Agricultural Statistics, Mathematics and Languages. The expertise of all the scientists are effectively utilized to render high quality education, research and extra curricular skills/ training programmes to the students of this college.
This Department shoulders various institutional responsibilities through its man power such as academic coordinator, security officer, residential tutor, NSS officer, placement officer, admission co-ordinator, agpreun coordinator, year coordinator and tamil kanini peravai.
