Mission
FC&RI has been progressing in tree breeding & selection over the period of time, which resulted in development and commercialization of tree varieties of economic importance. Further, cultivation of commercial tree species is considered as a successful enterprise and improving the supplementary income for the farmers. Consequently the relevance and importance of social economic aspects of tree cultivation is recognized and the department of B&SS was established on August 2018.
Mandate
The mandate of the department is to conduct research pertaining to socio and economic impact of FC&RI technologies and various issues pertaining to forestry including marketing of tree species.
Vision
The department is aimed at providing feedback to the technocrats and identify the yield gaps and other gaps in technological adoption in order to redefine R&D for better social economical impacts.
