Three – day workshop on Translational research for Ph. D. scholars and guides

Directorate of Agribusiness Development and E – YUVA centre, Department of Plant Biotechnology, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of TNAU jointly organized a three – day workshop on Translational research for Ph. D. scholars and guides during 27– 29th, December 2021. Dr. S. D. Sivakumar, Director (ABD) welcomed the participants and offered the introductory remarks. Dr. S. Mohankumar, Director (CPMB&B) and Dr. J. S. Kennedy, Dean (SPGS), TNAU felicitated the gathering. Mr. K. Satish Kumar, Assistant Director, MoMSME, New Delhi delivered a special address on translational research and Dr. A. S. Krishnamoorthy, Registrar cum Acting Vice – Chancellor, TNAU delivered the inaugural address.

The workshop had invited lectures from business professionals, entrepreneurs across India and professors of TNAU on identification of opportunities, generation of proof of concept, lab to commercialization, IP creation, business pitching, etc. The participants were enlightened on framing a research work towards product development and strategies to commercialize their research outcome. Dr. K. S. Subramanian, Director of Research, TNAU presided over the valedictory function. With the lessons from the workshop, the participants did a mock presentation on productizing their research findings. Dr. M. Malarkodi, Associate Professor (HRM), DABD proposed formal Vote of Thanks.
