Dr. Vivek Chandramohan is currently the Founder and CEO of Insilicomics Research Pvt. Ltd., overseeing its offices in Ooty and Coimbatore. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at SIT, Tumkur, and worked as a Senior Bioinformatics Analyst at Aetitea Life Sciences Research Ltd., Chennai. He holds a B.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology [Government arts college, Ooty] and M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from [CMS College of Art and Sciences, Coimbatore]. He earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Karnataka. Dr. Chandramohan’s primary research interests span Genomics and Proteomics (with a focus on Cancer Genomics and Metabolomics), Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), Big Data Analysis (including Cloud Computing), and Molecular Modelling and Drug Design. He has authored over 55 publications in reputed international journals and has filed one patent. He actively collaborates with researchers from various national and international institutions and has delivered more than 100 guest lectures across academic institutions. Dr. Chandramohan has participated in over 12 national and international conferences. Notably, he received a travel award and won 3rd prize at the 13th Annual MCBIOS (MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society) Conference held from March 3–5, 2016 at the University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He also received a travel award for an oral presentation at the First UAEU Symposium on Biological Sciences held at the United Arab Emirates University, Dubai, in November 2016. He is a professional member of the Chemical Science Transactions and the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO).
