Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), New Delhi, organized Global Bio – India 2024, an annual international congregation event of biotechnology stakeholders during 12th – 14th September 2024. The event showcased the growth of Indian biotech sector and emerging opportunities to the world. The event had about 5000 delegates from India and overseas representing startups, SMEs, Central & State Ministries, research organizations, incubators, investors, etc.
The E-YUVA centre of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University functioning in the Department of Plant Biotechnology, CPMB&B, TNAU participated in the mega event. Two undergraduate student teams of TNAU and the two innovation fellows who are supported under the E-YUVA programme had an opportunity to exhibit their project works and interact with the biostartup ecosystem. Besides, E-YUVA teams from other colleges viz., Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture, Erode, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore and Yuvaraja’s college, Mysuru which are supported by TNAU
E-YUVA centre also participated in the event with their mentors. Dr. N. Senthil, Director, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, and Mrs. T. Brindha, Project Coordinator, TNAU E-YUVA centre took part in the event. The event had technical sessions on international bioeconomy, agri food tech innovations for food security, regulatory framework for bio startups, blue economy, startup pitches, etc.
