The overall mandate of the KVK is to develop and disseminate location specific technological modules at district level through Technology Assessment, Refinement and Demonstration and training the farmers, farm women, rural youth and extension officials and to act as Knowledge and Resource Centre for agriculture and its allied activities. The specific to activities to carry out this mandate are:

• Conducting “on -farm testing” for identifying agricultural technologies for location specific sustainable land use systems
• Organize training to update the extension personnel with the advances in agricultural technology on regular basis
• Organize vocational training courses in agriculture and allied vocations for the farmers with emphasis on “Learning by doing”
• Organize front-line demonstrations to generate production data and feedback information
