The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) is an institutional arrangement to provide necessary technical and management guidance in developing need based and problem oriented effective technical programme, annual action plan, review of activities and guidance/suggestions to improve the functioning. one SAC meeting in each year. Meeting should be held preferably during the second half of the financial year before the finalization of action plan. In double cropped areas, SAC meeting can be conducted twice a year, prior to each season. KVK has to identify the farming systems and problems, propose interventions for addressing the identified farming problems taking into account the needs and aspirations of the stakeholders in the concerned. The results of all these exercises are refined in the Scientific Advisory Committee meetings (SAC) to develop meaningful action plans. At Zonal level the ATARI will have to monitor the timely conduct of Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings and implementation of their recommendations. At state level the Directors of Extension of Agricultural Universities concerned will have to monitor regular conduct of SAC meetings and implementation of its recommendations by the KVK.
