Crop Management HoD’s Desk

The Department of Crop Management  is headed by Prof. Dr. P. P. Mahendran , Professor of Soil Science and has contributed significantly in teaching, research and extension. He is a dedicated teacher with 21 years of teaching experience in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry .In recognition of his contribution towards teaching and students upliftment, he has been awarded with Best Teacher Award in the year 2010 by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and subsequently in the year 2018 he has been awarded with Prof. Sant Singh Memorial Award for Excellence in Education and Research in Soil Science by the Indian Society of Soil Science, New Delhi. In recognition of his contribution in the field of Soil Science, he has been awarded with Young Scientist Fellowship Award in the year 2002 by TNSCST, Chennai and Best Researcher Award in the year 2009 by TNAU, Coimbatore.   In recognition of his contribution in sugarcane research, he has been awarded with P.S.G. Ganga Naidu Medal for the Best Research in Sugarcane in the year 2010 by Madras Agricultural Students Union, Coimbatore. He has been awarded with Best Extension Worker Award in the year 2011 by TNAU, Coimbatore. Recently he has been bestowed with Scientist of Excellence in NICHE Area Research Award (2019) in the field of water management from TNAU.
