FACILITIES

Furnishing laboratory

Furniture’s and furnishing laboratory is equipped with Computer Aided Interior Designing (CAD) software, Revitt Architecture and 3Ds Max to develop competency among graduates in designing interirors. The basics of interior designing deals with space management for which furniture are available to have hands-on training for students.

 Ergonomics laboratory

Equipments such as Lux Meter, Noise Level Meter, Personal Sampler, Air Quality Monitor, Body Fat Analyser, Heart Rate Monitor,  Spirometer, Skinfold Caliper, Angle Display Unit,MicroFET5 Inclinometer, Infrared Thermography, Electronic Grip Strength Dynamometer, Grip Strength Dynamometer with logger, Push/Pull Force Gauge, Treadmill, Metronome, Ergomaster, Electromyography, (EMG),Vibration Analysis Tool Set and Human Modelling Software – Human CAD are available in this laboratory.  It is also used for research and teaching of Undergraduate and postgraduate students.  .

Model Kitchen for Elderly

A prototype model kitchen for elderly has been constructed from the DST Research project.  This will be the universal design incorporating all facilities such as safety and comfort for the elderly population.  In addition to it, these designs are also made available in the online and has also been promoted among the builders and contractors to reach the community through their building projects.

AICRP laboratory – FRM Component

AICRP laboratory houses the following equipment.

  • Heat Stress Monitor
  • Harpenden Anthropometer
  • Fertilizer broadcaster
  • Brush cutter
  • Seed driller

Theses facilities are used to carryout the AICRP research activities and a resource centre has been established at the adopted village to cater to the farm women.  This centre has drudgery reducing farm tools which are specific to vegetable production system.

The following equipments are available for custom hiring in the Department of Family Resource Management and Consumer Sciences, Community Science College and Research Institute.
