Placement Cell

The Placement cell in the Department of Agricultural Economics is the hub of students counseling and Placement activities for all undergraduate students of the college. This cell facilitates our graduates to get good placement in nationalized banks, leading seed companies, agro-based industries, multinational companies, NGOs, various government sectors etc. It also facilitates students to pursue their higher education in India and abroad by conducting coaching classes, motivation lectures, mock group discussions and interview simulations. The placement cell enables our graduates to become more employable and get employment. Further, the special programs to boost employability / Career opportunity among UG students.

Capacity Building Program for Students

A two day workshop on “Personality Development Programme” for final year B.Sc. (Agri) graduates was organized at Agricultural College and Research Institute (AC&RI), Eachangkottai, Thanjavur. The main objective of the Workshop was to familiarize participants with the emerging ideas and trends on how to develop personality to face the real world challenges ahead of them after their graduation. This workshop was organized for 2014-15 and 2015-16 batches in the following dates.

Placement Accomplishments

In 2015-16 batch, only one student Mr.S.Ligneshwar got selected and joined as Sales Trainee in Tata-Rallies and another student Mr. Sundaram got NABARD internship for establishing Mushroom unit as an entrepreneurial activity. Besides, 21 students are joined for the higher studies in agriculture in various Universities through ICAR-JRF exam and TNAU entrance exam.

  • Mr Aadhavan, Ms Aarthy, Mr Hariprabhu, Ms Mohanasri, Mr Santhosh, Mr Yogesh, Ms. Devadharshini, got selected for the post of Agricultural Officer and serving in the Department of Agriculture, Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • S. Subharathi (ID No. 2015-030-056) got the post in Clerical Cadre as “Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales)” in SBI, Trichy
  • M.R. Rithu (ID No. 2015-030-046) joined as Branch Post Master at Namakkal
  • P. SUNDARAM (ID No. 2015-030-058) started Sai Mushroom Unit at Madurai and became Entrepreneur
  • G. Praveenkumar (ID No. 2016-030-058) joined as Assistant Branch Post Master at Pattukottai
  • A. Athira (I D No. 2014-030-027) joined as Quality Control Inspector in Food Corporation of India, Panvel, Navi, Mumbai

Education Accomplishments

  • Rich pedagogical talents of the faculty of AC&RI Eachangkottai culminated in securing All India Top Seventh rank in ICAR-Nematology exam by Mr. K.R.Naveenkumar, now pursuing PG in IARI, New Delhi.
  • Six students of 2016-20 batch secured PG admission through ICAR-AIEEA at various Institutes/SAUs/CAUs and finished their PG degree programme in various subjects. Of which Ms Shanthini got I rank in AIEEA Ph.D in plant breeding and secured a seat in IARI, New Delhi.
  • Two students from III year B.Sc (Hons.) Agri are pursuing dual degree programme at Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University, Canada
  • Seven students 2017-21 batch secured PG admission through ICAR-AIEEA at various Institutes/SAUs/CAUs and continuing their PG degree programme in various subjects
  • A record of ten students 2017-21 batch secured PG admission through ICAR-AIEEA at various Institutes/SAUs/CAUs and continuing their PG degree programme in various subjects. Mr Dasaradan got all India 10th Rank in Agrl Economics and got admitted in NDRI, Karnal. Mr Sakthi Thangavel secured a seat in IARI, New Delhi in Bio-Technology.
