National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Introduction of National Cadet Corps unit will inculcate punctuality, discipline and patriotism of the students. NCC program in undergraduate degree program as a compulsory course in I and II year with course code: NCC 101 having credit hours of 0+1. Senior Division (SD) Army wing (Boys) consisting of one Associate NCC officer (ANO) and 50 SD cadets was approved in the year 2019 by the 34 (TN) Indep Coy NCC Thanjavur. As per DG NCC policy, only 17 cadets are enrolled during the training year (2019-20). Balance of the cadets will be enrolled during the training year 2020 -21 (17 cadets) and 2021 – 22 (16 cadets).  B&C certificate camp conducted from 21-2-2022 to 27-2-2022 was attended by 17 cadets from 2019 and 16 cadets from 2020 batch who all successfully cleared B and C certificate examination. K (TN20SDA810816) were selected for the firing training camp I held at Raja Serfoji College of Arts and Science, Thanjavur

Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) cum Republic Day (RD) Trg – I – 2022

A eight-day combined annual training camp-cum-Republic day Training Camp I was held at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Eachangkottai, Thanjavur from 13th August to 20th August 2022. Four hundred and ninety four NCC cadets of Trichy Rock fort Group participated in the the camp. The camp commandant was Officer Commanding 34 (Tamil Nadu) Independent Company NCC, Thanjavur. Fifteen senior cadets from Agricultural College and Research Institute, Eachangkottai, attended the camp. The camp began with the opening speech of Officer Commanding Col. Sanjeev Khurna. The camp was administered by 16 PI staff and 10 ANOs. Rigorous physical and drill training were imparted to the cadets along with weapon training, war field training and basic wartime medicine. Hands-on session on kholna-jhodna and rifle shooting were provided, while the cadets were trained to pitch a tent, along with Field Craft and Battle Craft and Reading maps during war field training. Every day, the cadets were trained physically and various competitions were held during the camp.

RDC CADETS did a parade in a fantabulous way on August 15th 2022 to celebrate the 75th INDEPENDANCE DAY program. The commanding officer Col. Sanjeev Khurrana hoisted the National flag. Group Commander, NCC Group Head Quarter Trichy Colonel Sunil Bhatt, VSM, inspected camp and received Guard of Honor from the cadets of 34 (Tamil Nadu) Independent Company NCC, Thanjavur. The group Commander welcomed by Dr.A.Velayutham, Dean, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Eachangkottai, Thanjavur along with the Lt. Dr.S.Mathiyazhagan, Associate NCC Officer of Agricultural College.
