- The land area of 50.0 ha was transferred from Exotic Cattle Breeding Farm for the establishment of AC&RI, Eachangkottai.
- 25 ha of land were cleared and levelled for crop cultivation out of which five acres of land are maintained as dryland, while 12 acres are under orchard crops.
- The Farm office, Seed processing unit, Fertilizer godown, Implements shed, Threshing floor are available in the farm.
Crop cultivation
- The irrigated crops viz., rice, cowpea, groundnut, blackgram, greengram, maize, chillies, brinjal, bhendi and greens etc., are grown.
- Coconut seedlings (400 Nos.) have been planted in the mother palm crossing block and maintained for revenue generation.
- High Density Planting of Mango(Bangalora) has been established with micro irrigation facility in an area of one acre.
- Crop cafeteria has been established in an area of 25 cents with various field crops for student’s education purpose.
- Rainfed crops viz. varagu, horsegram and cumbu are grown in an area of 5 acres during rainy season
- Rice establishment techniques namely SRI, drum seeding and aerobic rice demonstration in an area of 0.60 acre.
- Green manure crops are raised and incorporated in-situ to enrich the soil fertility.
- Fodder crops , Cumbu Napier grass (0.60 ha) and Subabul, Coral tree, Gliricidia and Humming bird tree are maintained in an area of 0.1 ha for milch animals.
