CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR SUSTAINING SOIL HEALTH

Infrastructure / The Centre of Excellence for Sustaining Soil Health is an unique project which  has been initiated with the following objectives during 2015-16 with the financial outlay of 470 lakhs as per the announcement made by the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the floor of the Assembly. The project was commenced with an appointment of Founder Project Director Dr.P.Pandiyarajan, Dean of this College.  Presently the project is under the leadership of Dr.P.Santhy, Project Director, ADAC&RI, Trichy.

MISSION STATEMENT

  • Enhancing production and productivity in salt affected and marginal fertile soil through sustaining soil health

Objectives

  • Quantification of extractable organic molecules / pesticide residues in soil, plant, and water using LC-MS/MS techniques.
  • Identification of diverse microbial communities by MALDI – TOF analyzer
  • Quantification of volatile compounds in soil, plant, water and other environmental samples by performing GC-MS/MS analysis
