  • Released during the year 1985
  • Duration: 120-125 days
  • Drought tolerance and non-lodging
  • Best suited for Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai districts under semi-dry Condition.
  • Yield : 2650 kg/ha

2.

RICE-PMK 2

  • Parentage:IR 13564-149-3 X   ASD4
  • Released during the year 1994
  • Early, drought tolerance and non-lodging
  • Tolerant to water inundation
  • Suitable for both rain fed  and semi-dry systems of cultivation in Ramnad and Sivagangai districts
  • Grain yield : 3200 kg/ha under rainfed condition

RICE-PMK (R) 3

  • Parentage:UPLRI 7 X  CO 43
  • Released during the year 2003
  • Early duration (105-110 days) with  drought tolerance
  • Semi dwarf, non lodging and non shattering
  • Long bold white rice
  • Suitable for direct seeding under rain fed situation for Ramnad and Sivagangai districts.
  • Higher productivity (3.2-3.5  t/ha,13 % higher yield than PMK 2 )

RICE- ANNA (R) 4                       

  • Selection from Pantdhan 10 X IET 9911
  • Released during the year 2009
  • Early duration of 100-105 days
  • Higher productivity of 3.7 t / ha (14.7 percent increased yield over the check variety PMK (R) 3)
  • Drought tolerant
  • Semi dwarf, erect, non – lodging
  • Short duration (100 – 105 days) which is a week earlier than PMK        (R) 3
  • Suitable for September – October sowing (North East Monsoon) in rainfed areas of Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai Districts
  • Long slender white rice with high head rice recovery (62.1%)

CHILLI – PMK 1

  • Parentage:CO2 X Ramanathapuram mundu
  • Released during the year 1994
  • Duration : 200 days
  • Suitable for rainfed conditions
  • Conical fruits with attractive red colour
  • More   capsaicin content  ( 0.36% )
  • Yield : 2400 kg dry pods per hectare   (53% increased yield over the local types)
