Irrigation management

Irrigation Management

  • Aerobic rice can successfully be grown in raised bed of 1.0 m bed width (five rows/bed) and irrigating the crop daily recorded higher net return and B:C ratio of 2.79.
  • Alternate wetting and drying method along with 1% PPFM application through 1% seed treatment with 1% foliar spray considered to be an effective and economical method for cultivation of early sown wet seeded rice under water scarcity areas.

Nutrient Management

  • Application of 25 kg additional N /ha as basal, bio-mineralizer (2 kg/ t of rice residue) and cow dung slurry (5 %) could be considered as a better option for achieving higher productivity and profitability of rice for residue management in combine harvested rice field.
  • In Tamirabarani command area, grain yield, haulm yield, gross return and net return were found to be higher under foliar spray of TNAU Pulse wonder at flowering or foliar spray of combined nutrient spray of 2 5 DAP + 1 % Urea + sulphate of potash + 40 ppm NAA at 30 DAS or Foliar spray of 1 % 19:19:19 water soluble fertilizer at 30 DAS for rice fallow green gram.
  • Application of GLM @ 6.25 t/ haat basal, Azophosmet application (seed treatment @ 600 g /ha and soil application @ 2 kg /ha) and recommended dose of 150:50:50  kg NPK/ha could be considered as a better option for achieving higher productivity and profitability of ADT (R) 45 rice under transplanted condition.
  • Integrated nutrient management involving application of recommended dose of NPK  100  per cent plus Azophosmet(Seed @ 600g and Soil @ 2.0 kg) plus Arbuscular mycorrhiza (Nursery @ 100 g m-2 and Main field @ 50 kg ha-1) is the most viable nutrient management practices for getting higher yield, income and enhancing the efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorous in rice.
  • Soil application of 25: 50: 25: 20: 25 kg of N: P: K: S: Zn ha-1 at basal and foliar spray of 1.125 % TNAU Pulse Wonder @ 5.625 kg ha-1 at flowering and 15 days later is the profitable nutrient management package to blackgram for getting higher income through higher yield.
  • Integrated management practices of seed treatment (Biofertilizer + Micronutrients 4g Zn + 1g Mo + 0.5g Co kg-1 of seed) + foliar spray of 1.125 % TNAU pulse wonder at 30 DAS is the viable package for getting higher yield and higher income of rice fallow blackgram under Thamirabarani command area.
  • STCR based NPK + foliar spray of 1 % ZnSO4 + 1 % FeSO4 has proven to be  effective in terms of growth, yield (7298 kg ha-1) and higher gross return (Rs.133910 ha-1) and net return (Rs.85039 ha-1) in hybrid maize.
  • Application of 125 % RDF along with enriched FYM and 20 Kg /ha humic acid and foliar spray of 1.0 % Urea + 0.5 % CaCl2 could be considered as economically feasible, as it has given higher net returns in fodder maize and cowpea intercropping.
