1.Preparation of Needle-punched and thermal bonding  Non-woven Fabric for weed control mat

The fibre was extracted from the sorghum stalk and the non woven fabric material was developed by blending of sorghum fiber  and Cotton fiber in the ratio of 50:50 using needle punching technique. The non woven fabric material was also developed by blending of sorghum fiber with and PET (polypropylene fibers) in the ratio of 50:50 properties using thermal bonding technique. Weed control mats were developed from the sorghum non woven materials. The sorghum fiber non woven materials were designed to allow both air and water to drain, reducing the risk of standing water puddles and root rot.

2.Development of anti microbial Herbal Functional Finishes – Anti microbial face mask
 
Antimicrobial properties of the guava leaves extract  were tested scientifically. Application of plant extracts in textile finishing for functional clothing of farm women and local sportswear were also tried out. The Double layer Cotton Gada fabric face mask was developed using anti microbial properties of Herbal Functional Finishes of guava leaves. The antimicrobial face mask was scientifically validated.

3.Popularization and Product Diversification of Ethnic Crafts on Textiles with ICT Application

Traditional line designs and simple motifs  were identified for bhadhani tie and dye designs. Different types of products were developed from the bhadhani tie and dye for digital printing technique. Imparted training on Value added products of tie and dye decorated with the traditional designs to the rural SHG women using ICT application.
