Dr. S. Manickam, Ph.D.,  as a Dean i/c,  Agricultural College And Research Institute, Vazhavachanur, Tiruvannamalai District, TamilNadu. He is  well recognized Professor in the faculty of Agronomy in Tamil Nadu. He has completed B.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Sc. (Agriculture) and Ph.D. in Agronomy in TNAU.

He is a popular Agronomist Scientist  and teacher and has been teaching and guided Agronomy  courses to undergraduate students of B.Sc. (Agriculture),  M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D.  He has published and edited  twenty three  books ,Thirty seven Book chapters, Books without ISBN forty six , Research articles  International seven, Research articles national  forty two, Research notes sixteen,Poster papers six  and Twenty one  Conferences/seminar /symposium papers .  He has guided 18 B.Sc. (Ag.) , 6 M.Sc. (Ag.) and 2 Ph.D.  students.

He has been involved in research for 30 years.  He has rich research experience in  Crop Management. He had completed many  numbers of ICAR  and private agency sponsored projects.

He is a recognized Agronomist  and   viable triangulation linkages with stakeholders like Government personnel, NGOs, Private Industries and farming community to disseminate farm management technologies through modern extension methods. He has organized several trainings, campaigns, participatory seminars, and extension training programmes  to the  farmers and extension functionaries.
