Dryland Agricultural Research Station, Chettinad was Established in an area of 317 acres on 1.5.2008 as per the G.O. (MS) no.44 Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AH4) department dated 20.03.2008
The new laboratory building was opened on 12.09.2012 for facilitating the dryland research
Food Processing Research and Training Centre was established on 02.08.2013 as per the G.O. Ms.145 Agriculture (AU) Department at Dryland Agricultural Research Station
Research station was upgraded as Centre of Excellence in Dry Farming from 07.04.2015 onwards to facilitate advanced research in Dry Farming
TANII project for Establishment of Integrated Organic Silvo-pastural models suitable for Alfisol tracts of Tamil Nadu has been implemented at DARS,Chettinad in 2017
