Fruit Crops
Banana

  • Cultivation of banana cv. Dwarf Cavendish under double hedge row system with the spacing 1.0 x 1.6 x 2.4 m for higher yield.
  • Closer spacing (5’ x 6’) in banana cv. Robusta for higher bunch weight in main, first and second ratoon crops.
  • Higher fruit yield in banana cv. Robusta adopting a spacing of 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m under double hedge row system
  • Banana – lablab intercropping system for higher returns.

  • Fertigation schedule with 100 percent N & K and soil application of 100 percent P for higher bunch weight and B:C ratio in banana cv. Robusta.

Papaya

  • Application of 50g each in N, P and K at bimonthly intervals from third month after planting, along with biofertilizers and bioinoculants (Azospirillum + VAM(50g/plant) + PSB + Pseudomonas fluorescens (25g/plant) + Trichoderma viride (50g/plant) + PSB + Pseudomonas fluorescens(25g/plant) + Trichoderma viride (50g/plant) for more number of fruits and higher fruit weight.
  • Application of 50g each in N, P and K per plant at bi-monthly intervals from third month of planting after removing unwanted sex forms and 20g each in Azospirillum and Phosphobacterium at planting and again six months after planting for higher fruit yields.
  • Application of 10 litres of water per day + 13.5g urea and 10.5g muriate of potash per week through fertigation for more number of fruits and higher fruit weight.
