Cropping system
- Evaluation of red gram based strip intercropping systems under rainfed condition:– Among the different land configuration and intercropping system the ridges and furrow and red gram + black gram (4:5) based strip intercropping recorded higher yield of 441.5 kg ha-1, while the intercropping system red gram + groundnut (4:5) treatment recorded numerically higher groundnut yield of 847.6 kg ha-1. In the case of equivalent yield, ridges and furrow recorded higher red gram yield of 937.7 kg ha-1. The highest soil available N, P and K was noticed in broad bed furrow with groundnut as intercrop.
- Under Samai-Horse gram cropping system, adoption of integrated nutrient management practices viz., application of FYM @ 12.5 t ha-1 + recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer 44:22:0 kg ha-1 N, P2O5 and K2O + seed treatment with bio-fertilizers found to have more productivity recording 955 kg ha-1 of grain yield which was 77.8 per cent higher than absolute control. Integrated nutrient management practices (FYM @ 12.5 t ha-1 + Recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer 44:22:0 kg ha-1 N, P2O5 and K2O + seed treatment with bio-fertilizers) improved the yield of samai as 842 kg ha-1 which was 13.6 and 15.6per cent higher than inorganic fertilization (Recommended N, P2O5 and K2O @ 44:22:0 kg ha-1) and organic manuring (FYM 12.5 t ha-1 ) respectively .
- Intercrop for semi-spreading groundnut under rainfed condition:-Compartmental bunding recorded higher groundnut pod yield (696 kg ha-1). Among the intercrops, black gram combination recorded the highest yield of 751 kg. CB and cowpea intercrops increased the soil available Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, which was comparable with CB and red gram intercrop system.
- Sowing time for enhancing the winter pulses (Horse gram) productivity:-Line sowing with manual and seed drill recorded higher yield than broadcasting. Sowing at October last week and Ist week of November recorded highest grain yields. Sowing during last week of October with seed drill and recorded the highest grain yield (726 kg/ ha) as compared to broadcasting.
- Balanced nutrition for Rice-Rice cropping system:-In Rice-Rice cropping system, application of 150-50-50-25 of NPK & Zn SO4 for Kharif Rice & 120-40-40-25 kg/ha of NPK & Zn SO4 for Rabi rice was found to be beneficial and increased the yield and income to the tune of 21 and 29 per cent over farmers practice respectively.
- Balanced nutrition for Rice-Groundnut cropping system:-Application of 150-50-50-25 of NPK & Zn SO4 for Kharif Rice & 20-50-75-10 kg/ha of NPK & Borax for Rabi Groundnut was found to be beneficial and increased the yield and income to the tune of 25 and 27 per cent over farmers practice respectively
- In finger millet , application of NPK followed with foliar application of ZnSO4 (0.5%), FeSO4 (1%) and citric acid (0.1%) at vegetative and flowering stages recorded the highest plant height (88.8 cm) number of tillers (6.4 nos.) and the grain and straw yield of 2118 kg ha-1 and 3537 kg ha-1 respectively.
