Biocontrol laboratory at Regional Research Station at Paiyur was started during 2003 and since then it is operating successfully catering the needs of farmers, researchers and agricultural departments of four districts viz., Dharmapuri, Krishnagii, Vellore and Thiruvannamalai. The activities include the mass production of two biocontrol agents viz., Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluorescens and four biofertilizers viz., Azospirillum, Phosphobacteria, Rhizobium and VAM. Nearly 4 tonnes of each of the biocontrol agents and 6 tonnes of biofertilizers were produced and sold annually. The revenue generated from the sale of bio agentsis approximately 15-20 lakhs annually.

The pathology laboratory was created during 2015-16 with the revenue generated out of VCS on the Mass Production of Bioagents. The Research work like isolation and maintenance of the bioagents like Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluorescens,Azospirillum, Phosphobacteria, Rhizobium were done. Also preparation of broth, inoculation and incubation of bioagents for the mass production is being carried out in the laboratory. The research work is also being carried out in the laboratory.
