NETAFIM/DCM/TNJ/AGR/2014/R001 – | Standardization of lateral spacing and chemigation techniques in drip irrigated rice
|
Dr.V.Ravi, Dr.S.Porpavai & Dr.G.Thiyagarajan | Jan 2014 – May 2016
|
In SWMRI, study was undertaken in Kharif, 2013 to standardize lateral spacing and pestigation techniques in drip irrigated paddy. 80 cm and 110 cm lateral spacing with four pestigation treatments were tested indrip irrigation at 150 % PE in rice varieties CORH3 and ADT 45. Comparing two lateral spacings, 80 cm recorded higher grain yield due to increased WUE and more wetting pattern. Even though, drip irrigation in rice would increase water as well as grain productivity , it needs still thorough investigation on uniformity of water and nutrients distribution to all plant rows and economic feasibility before taking this technique to larger scale |
IRRI scheme: Effect of different management practices on the control of voluntary rice in dry and wet season direct seeded rice | IRRI scheme: Effect of different management practices on the control of voluntary rice in dry and wet season direct seeded rice | Dr. K. Parameswari
AP( SS& T) & Dr.V.Ravi Professor and Head |
June, 2014- May, 2016 | In dry seeded rice in Thaladi and Kuruvai, stale seedbed, tillage and irrigation, weeds killed by glyphosate and tillage before sowing main rice crop has observed lowest emergence of weeds of 17.8 and 15.6/m2 and voluntary plants of 3.6 and 4.8/m2 and recorded highest computed grain yield of 5613 and 5834 kg /ha, respectively.
With respect to voluntary rice density, no significant difference was observed on weed emergence but it has significant variation with respect to number of voluntary plants and computed grain yield. |
