The FDP on Data Science in Agriculture is conducted by the Department of Physical Sciences and Information Technology, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore-3 during November 20 to 25, 2023. Out of the 58 participants applied for the program 35 were approved, out of which 10 were from host institute. Only 30 participants completed the training program. The participants from various AICTE approved institutions / engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The Chief guest of the program was Dr. E. Somasundaram, Director (Agri Business Development), TNAU, Coimbatore and he exemplified the importance of data analytics in the present-day scenario and summarized suitable scenario where Data Analysis is adopted in the Agri Business Sector. Dr. A. Raviraj, Dean (Engg.), Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Coimbatore gave insight into the nuances of data analytics in agriculture domain and skill that will be taught during the training. Dr. Balaji Kannan, Professor and Head, Dept. of PS&IT, AEC&RI, welcomed the gathering and explained about the training schedule and experts involved in the training program. Dr. C.S. Sumathi, Professor (CS), Dept. of PS&IT, AEC&RI, delivered the vote of thanks.
