STUDENTS CLUB ACTIVITIES

Students Club is one of the important events & entities of AC&RI, Madurai. The first Students Club was initiated during the year 1968. During the year 2018 the Golden jubilee Students Club was celebrated. The Dean AC&RI, Madurai is a President of the Students Club. To facilitate and guide the Students, Staff advisor in the Professor has been nominated by the University. The Students Club is run by Club Secretary, Joint Club Secretary and Secretaries of various Societies. To explore the hidden Talents and Organizing Skills, Mega Intercollegiate cultural mela namely, TALENTIA is being organized every year with the participation of more than 700 students from approximately 40 colleges. Besides, Muthamizh vizha, Thullal , Pongal vizha, Club Day are also being organized. Passport Mela and Coaching Classes for Civil Services and Bank Examination are also being organized for the benefit of the students.

Inauguration of 55th Students club

The 55th Students Club was Inaugurated on 17th October 2023. The 55th Students club was declared open by the Deans of both the Colleges namely Dr. P. P. Mahendran.,Dean (AC&RI ,Madurai) and Dr. S. Kanchana.,Dean (CSC&RI, Madurai). The guest of honor of the function was Mr. D. Venkatesh, IFoS, Conservator of Forests and Field Director, Muthumalai Tiger Reserve,Ooty. Dr.B.Bhakiyathu Saliha., Staff Advisor, Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai and Dr.K.Shanthi.,Staff Advisor, Community Science College and Research Institute, Madurai Welcomed the gathering and Introduced the Club Secretary, Joint Club Secretary, Games Secretary and Joint Games Secretary and Secretaries of various Societies of the 55th Students Club.

Pongal vizha

Pongal vizha was celebrated on 12.01.2024 at AC & RI, Madurai by the Tamil Literacy society of the 55th Students Club. The Function was inaugurated by the Deans of both the Colleges namely Dr. P. P. Mahendran.,Dean (AC &RI ,Madurai) and Dr. S. Kanchana.,Dean (CSC & RI, Madurai). Dr. K. Ramakrishnan., Staff Advisor, Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai and Dr. K. Shanthi.,Staff Advisor, Community Science College and Research Institute, Madurai Welcomed the gathering. The guest of honor of the function was Dr. Pradheep Kumar.,Senior Scientist (Department of Soil Science).,C.S.K.Himachal Pradhesh Agricultural University,Palampur. Various sports competitions like Kabaddi, Pot Breaking, Painting etc were conducted and the Cultural Programmes were also organized by the Students.

Talentia’23

TALENTIA is a State level Inter-collegiate Cultural Competition being organized annually for the past 35 years by Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai . Talentia is a legendary two days event, which speaks the fame of the Institute.  The main objective of this event is to provide platform for cultural meeting and bring out the hidden extra-ordinary capacities and chic of the young student community; promotes brotherhood, cross cultural learning and organizing skills among students; it heightens the cultural integration through characteristic contests of dance, music, fine arts, quiz and literary events.

This great event was organised by the Dramatic secretary A.Dinesh & Joint Dramatic secretary V.Sowmya.The event was successfully planned on 15th and 16th  March, 2019 under the guidance of Our Respectable Dean’s Dr V.K Paul Pandi AC&RI, Madurai and Dr.S.Amutha, CSC & RI, Madurai along with our  beloved  Staff advisor’s  Dr.P.Saravana Pandian, AC&RI, Madurai and Dr. P.Parimalam, CSC & RI, Madurai . The guest honour was Dr. A.S.Krishnamoorthy, Registrar, TNAU, Coimbatore. More than 700 students from approximately 40 colleges have participated in various events. Nearly about 19 off stage events including fine arts, quiz and literary events and 9 on stage events like dance, music etc have been conducted.

Muthamil Vizha

A mega programme namely Muthamil vizha is used to be celebrated at AC&RI, Madurai for 2 days every year, programmes related to literature, music and drama were executed by all students as well as by inviting experts in the particular field.

Thullal ’2023

The intra-collegiate cultural fest, Thullal ’19, was conducted with much Pomp and Stance, under the tagline Ithu Saathanaigalin Sangamam on April 6th, 2019. The program was channelled to create fraternity among the First, Second and Third year students of B.Sc.,(Ag.,) and B.Sc., (FND) by means of various competitions and events. The event was conducted in two phases as Off-stage events and On-stage events. A total of 26 off-stage events including various literary and arts competition were conducted in a span of a month. The grand off-stage title, Innovators ’19 was bagged by the third year students, Spaartanz ’16.
