About Department
The Agriculture College and Research Institute, Madurai has been in existence since 1965 and Golden Jubilee was celebrated during 2014-15. In order to cater the needs of Agricultural Biotechnology, Education and Research in Southern Districts of Tamil Nadu and also to commemorate Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Department of Biotechnology was established in 2014.
