A Budding Institute for Horticulture Education & Technology

The Horticultural College and Research Institute, Paiyur, Krishnagiri District was started on 18.04.2022 at the Regional Research Station located at Paiyur, Krishnagiri District.
The college was announced at Jeenur, Krishnagiri District.by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Th. M.K.Stalin as a new constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University vide G.O. (Ms). No. 250 dt. 17.12.2021. The location of the college was substituted as Horticultural College and Research Institute, Paiyur on 08.11.2023 vide G.O. (Ms). No. 239 dt. 08.11.202. The college currently offers a four year undergraduate degree programme B. Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture. Total strength of the students is 189 comprising of 115 girls and 74 boys.


The vision of this institute is to promote science-based horticulture and allied processes in the State of Tamil Nadu to help the farmers and horticulture based industries to compete successfully in the national and international markets through its education, research and out-reach programmes.


Horticultural education through quality research, training and transfer of technology for ensuring food security, commercialization of horticulture and to improve standard of living of farming community.


To contribute; for reducing poverty and ushering-in an Era of prosperity in the rural areas through horticultural education, research and extension programme.
