About KVK

            The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Vamban was started during 2000 under NATP at Pudukkottai District and established as ICAR – KVK during 2004. It has an area of 23.2 ha in which 3.05 ha is under buildings and 2.31 ha under demo units and remaining 17.84 ha under crop cultivation and agro-trees. It is located in Southern Zone of Tamil Nadu having sandy sandy clay loam soil type. The farming systems in the District viz., Irrigated Agricultural, Horticultural Systems, Rain-fed Agricultural, Horticultural, Forestry systems and Livestock production.

Mandates

The overall mandate of the KVK is to develop and disseminate location specific technological modules at district level through Technology Assessment, Refinement and Demonstration and to act as Knowledge and Resource Centre for agriculture and its allied activities. Read more

  • Nominated Mrs. K. Selvi and Pudukkottai Organic FPCL for farmers’ day awards and they received  Best State level Seed producer award 2018 (TNAU) and Best FPO award respectively during Farmers’ day 2018 at TNAU, Coimbatore on 10.02.2018.
