Varieties released with their attributes

State Variety released (2018):   Groundnut TMV 14 (Groundnut TVG0856)

  • The groundnut culture TVG 0856 released as groundnut TMV 14 during 2018.
  • The groundnut culture TVG 0856 is the cross derivative of VRI 6 x R 2001 -2.
  • This culture yielded 2124 kg /ha during Kharif   and 2286 kg/ ha during rabi season.
  • This cultures having shelling of 70.6 % with 92% SMK and 38gm of 100 kernel weight.
  • This culture completely resistant to rust disease and tolerant to late leaf spot (Score -2.0) and it matures in 95-100 days.
  • The yield increase was found to be 11.5 and 15.2 per cent superior over the check varieties VRI Gn 6 and TMV Gn 13 respectively during Kharif,   while the yield increase was 29.7 and 32.3 per cent over the checks VRI Gn 6 and TMV Gn 13 during Rabi season.
  • The pod and kernel characteristics of this culture are most acceptable to the farmers.
