Crop Management

Technologies developed

Groundnut

  • Dual application of pre-emergence herbicide viz., Pendimethalin @ 1 kg a.i/ha at 3 DAS along with early post emergence application of Imazethapyr @ 75 g a.i/ha at 2-3 leaf stage of the weed (25 to 30 DAS) + one hand weeding at 40 DAS is effective for control of broad leaf weeds.
  • Application of fertilizers @ 25:50:75 kg NPK/ha in three splits with 50 % NK and 100 % P as basal and 25 % N & K each at 20 & 45 DAS.

Sesame

  • Seed pelleting with neem leaf powder @ 760 g + 120 g Azotobacter + 120 g phosphobacteria for 1 kg seed with 1.5 % combined nutrient spray at 30 & 45 DAS recorded higher sesame seed yield of 803 kg ha-1  which is 30 % yield increase over control (615 kg ha-1) and higher B:C ratio of 2.85 as against control with 2.37.
  • Under  organic production of confectionery sesame, application of FYM @ 12.5 t/ha + seed treatment (Azospirillum + Phosphobacteria + PGPR each @ 600 g ha-1 of seed) + soil application of biofertilizer (Azospirillum + Phosphobacteria + PGPR each @ 2 kg ha-1) and foliar application of panchagavya 3% spray at 30 and 45 DAS recorded a higher seed yield (819 kg ha-1) and higher net income (Rs.31,402 /ha) and B:C ratio (1.98).

Cashew

  • Soft wood grafting technology for production of good quality planting material
  • Top working in cashew to rejuvenate old senile orchards
  • Fertilizer schedule – 500:200:300: g NPK/tree per year after 5 years
  • Intercropping with groundnut, blackgram, Ocimum sanctum and Aloe vera
  • High density planting system at 5 x 4 m to accommodate 500 plants per hectare with a fertilizer dose of 225:75:75 kg NPK/ha.
