Business Incubation Forum
Business incubator is value adding service organization aimed to foster the care of a new venture at an early stage, increase its chances for survival and enhance the growth potential by providing comprehensive and integrated range of business development services. The first incubation unit, Post Harvest Technology Centre was supported by McGill University, Canada. The second unit, Technology Business Incubator was funded by NSTEDB, DST, GoI. The DABD also implemented the Business Planning and Development Unit funded by ICAR. The Madurai Agribusiness Incubation Forum, at AC&RI, Madurai was supported by NABARD. The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Chennai, has funded four incubation centres, one each at Agricultural Colleges at Tiruchirappalli and Killikulam (Thoothukudi Dt), one at Horticulture College, Periyakulam and one at Forest College, Mettupalaym. A pre-incubation cluster is operating at the Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Each of these centre have separate theme areas and undertake agribusiness incubation, technology commercialization, market and financial linkages and other business services, capacity building programs and outreach activities.
