TNAU Private Seed Sector Research and Technology Consortium

TNAU has evolved many high yielding hybrids in agricultural and horticultural crops. In order to make the hybrids reach the farmers in large scale throughout Tamil Nadu and India and in less time, TNAU is involved in commercializing the promising high yielding hybrids to public and private seed producing agencies. To facilitate the commercialization, TNAU has created Private Seed Sector Research and Technology Consortium with public and private seed companies as members. As on June 2020, Seven TNAU hybrids covering Rice, Maize and Okra have been commercialized to 10 seed companies throughout India through this consortium.
