Establishment

To gratify the need of the banana growers of Tamil Nadu, the Banana Research Station was started by the Department of Agriculture at Virinjipuram in 1969. Later, the Banana Research Station was transferred to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University during 1981 and upgraded as Agricultural Research Station in 1990.
