The Department of Extension Education and Communication Management is performing threefold function of teaching, research and extension. This department is bestowed with experienced faculty more than 26 years of teaching. Faculties undergone overseas training programmes on various aspects and highly proficient and excelling teaching ,research and extension activities
This department equipped with Audio-visual lab with video conference faculties and well equipped Entrepreneur Development Centre especially for millet value addition, we have organized various capacity building skill training on value addition of foods to various groups SHG, ATMA, FPC and other groups. Veture capital scheme also run through this department in which various training programme for college students, various interest group in the society . This department maintained exhibition hall where in the technologies developed by the Community Science College and Research Institute, Madurai was exhibited for the benefit of farmers.
The thrust areas covered in the external funded schemes were value addition of various agricultural and horticultural produce to empowerment of farm women /farmers interested groups to achieve livelihood security, Dry land farm women empowerment ,promoting application of ICT and nutrisensitive IFS Model and climate change among farm women in order to increase their income and increase their adoption level
