Future Strategies

Current Research Agenda

Right now this station is giving priority in assembling of promising genotypes of acid lime by undertaking intensive surveys in potential acid lime growing areas of this tract and there by enriching the gene bank of this crop, with which fruitful results for identification of superior and high yielding varieties of acid lime could be obtained.

In addition research on standardization of elite root stocks for acid lime is also in progress with an idea of overcoming major biotic and abiotic problems of this crop.

Acid lime is very sensitive to micro nutrients and deficiency of zinc, iron manganese etc; are often met with. Hence a separate research sub project on standardization of micro nutrient requirement of acid lime is also in progress. Focus is also given to standardize appropriate media for production of quality acid lime seedlings owing to the importance of mass production and supply of good planting materials to the farming community.
