NCC Activities
The National Cadets Corps (NCC) unit present at ADAC & RI, Trichy comes under 5/2 company, 2 TN Battalion, Group Head Quarter, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhaman Nicobar directorate. Cadet’s strength of this unit is 52. Presently 31 boys and 21 girls are enrolled in NCC programme and undergoing NCC 101. National Cadet Corps (0+1) course. It is three years programme in six semesters. Associate NCC Officer Lieutenant Dr.T.Ramesh is in-charge of this NCC unit. Selection of cadets for enrolling NCC is being done based on physical fitness with the help of army staff.
NCC cadets undergo compulsory institutional training and also attending minimum of two Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC) outside the campus. During camps, cadets get exposure on drill, weapon training, physical training, yoga practice, sports and games competitions, firing practice and cultural activities. Weapon training includes assembling and dismantling, handling of 0.22” riffle, 7.5 mm Self Loading Riffle (SLR), Carbon Machine Gun (CMG) and arm drill. Students also have theory classes about leadership qualities, personality development and health and hygiene with the help of specialized persons in different fields. Students also participating centrally organized camps like National Integration Camps (NIC) and All India Nilgiris Treck which provides more confidents and opportunities to interact with other state students and sharing their cultures and knowledge.
During second and third year, cadets are appearing NCC B and C certificate exams respectively. NCC cadets of this institute securing top ranks at 2 TN Bn NCC Unit level in certificate exams. The B and C certificates holders are getting bonus marks (upto 5 marks) in uniform service recruitments. Cadets who have C certificate with A or B grade will eligible for direct recruitment in Army Officers selection without appearing UPSC written exam.
Cadets are participating in the International Yoga Day celebration on 21st June of every year and learning about the benefits of yoga practice. NCC cadets of this institute received All India Meritorious Cadet Welfare Society scholarship and Tamil Nadu Government scholarship during last five years.
NCC cadets also involved social service activities like conducting blood donation camps, tree planting, creating awareness on Clean India Campaign, campus cleaning, visiting and donating goods to nearby orphanage and mental ill homes.
NCC cadets participating in Parade during Independence day, Republic day and Annual Sports day programmes which motivates them to do national duties and services. Finally, NCC inculcates the habits of bearing, discipline, punctuality and responsibility among the students which helps them in overall personality development.
- NCC Certificate examinations
- During 2019, 18 cadets written B certificate exam and secured 100% Pass. In C certificate exam, all the 24 cadets of ADAC&RI got A grade at unit level. It was very well appreciated by the Commanding Officer, NCC unit.
- During 2020, 11 cadets for B certificate and 18 cadets for C certificate exam appeared and secured 100 % Pass.
- During 2021, 11 cadets for C certificate and 24 cadets for B certificate appeared and secured 100% pass. All the 24 cadets got A grade in B certificate Exam
- During 2022, 25 cadets appeared in C certificate exam and secured 100 % pass. In B certificate exam, 18 cadets were appeared and secured 100% pass and out of 18 cadets 16 cadets obtained A grade.
- During 2023, 8 cadets attended B certificate Exam and secured 100% pass. 18 cadets appeared C certificate exam and secured 100% pass

NCC Officer Promotion and Appreciation from Deputy Director General, NCC
- NCC Officer Lt.Dr.T.Ramesh has been promoted as Captain. NCC officer promotion pipping ceremony was held at NCC unit, Trichy on 8.8.2023. Colonel Arunkumar, Commanding Officer, 2, TN, battalion NCC, Trichy and army officers were present.
- NCC Officer Captain Dr.T.Ramesh, has been awarded with Appreciation certificate by the Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi, Deputy Director General, National Cadet Corps Directorate (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar) on 26.09.2023 in a function held at Periyar Maniammai University, Thanjavur.
- Special Achievement Articles written by NCC cadets Rohit Sameera and Gowsika A were published in the NCC journal (2020) from NCC Directorate Chennai.
- NCC Meritorious Scholarships
- M.Mounika received meritorious Cadet Welfare Society CWS scholarship (Rs.6000/- each) during 2019
- Cadet B. Keerthana got TN govt NCC Scholarship for the year 2019 and they received the cheque for Rs.5000/-
- Cadet C. Roja and V. Harini got TN govt NCC Scholarship for the year 2020 and they received the cheque for Rs.5000/- from the Commanding Officer Col Gowswami on 18.3.2021
- NCC Cadets Tony Moses, Padhma Priiyha and Sathiya Priya got TN govt NCC Scholarship for the year 2021 and received Rs.5000/- from Commanding Officer, 2, TN Bn NCC, Trichy on 04.02.2022.
- Cadet R Akshra of III year received meritorious TN Govt NCC scholarship of Rs.5000/- cheque received from the Col Gowsami, Commanding Officer, 2, TN, Bn Trichy on 02.03.2023
- Azadi ka Amrit Mohastov Celebration NCC cadets arranged an exhibition on freedom fighters at college Auditorium on 02.08.2022 to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mohastov and explained about unsung freedom fighters to Dr. V.Geethalaksmi, Honorable Vice Chancellor of TNAU. NCC Unit also organized various competitions for Nehru middle school, Muthukulam children in connection with Azadi ka Amrit Mohastov celebration and the prize distribution was conducted on Independence Day function.
- One day seminar on International Year of Millets NCC unit organized one day seminar on Healthy living- Healthy eating in connection with International Year of millets on 9.12.2023. Dr.C.Vanniarajan, Dean delivered the presidential address and explained about the importance of millets. Dr.P.Geetha, Professor (FSN) and Head delivered a special address and elaborated the nutritional benefits of millets. Havildar Sivakumar, Army person explained role of NCC cadets in creating awareness about millet foods.
- Rally on International Year of millets Organized a rally on International Year of millets to create awareness among the public about health benefits of millets. NCC cadets conducted a rally in Navalur Kuttapattu village

- Conducted Blood Donation Camp for NCC cadets at ADAC&RI, Trichy on 23.03.2019 and 06.05.2023. NCC cadets actively participated in this progrmmeBlood Donation CampNational Unity Day celebration
- National Unity Day is celebrated every year on October 31st to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. College staff advisor Dr.Jeyaprakash, Professor and Head (PBG), flag off the national unity day run by NCC cadets.
