Sports and Recreation Facilities

Considering the health and its role in overall development of student community, physical education course has been made mandatory and form a part of the course curriculum. A separate course on Physical Education with 0+1 credit (PED 101) is offered for I and II B.Sc. (Ag.) students with 68 practical classes to the students spread over four semesters and Yoga for Human Excellence with 0+1 credit (PED 102) with 34 practical classes for two semesters as a part of their curriculum.

The students are facilitated to equip themselves for all types of physical exercises during the classes and in other play hours to keep them physically fit and healthy. In addition, the skill development in any one of the games like badminton, ball badminton, basketball, cricket, football, hand ball, kabbadi, kho-kho, table tennis, volleyball and athletics is contemplated in the physical education programme. Ground preparation, cleaning and maintenance are regularly done for ready use by the students. Regularly matches are conducted for students during the festival time like club inauguration, Independence day, Republic day, Pongal festival, Sports day and coaching games are organized for the students to improve their skills using ground facility.

Organization of University inter-collegiate tournament

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Inter – Collegiate tournament was organized at our own Institute (Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College & Research Institute), Tiruchirappalli from 23-02-2014 to 28-2-2014. One thousand eight Hundred students from constituent and affiliated colleges participated in this tournament. Nearly forty officials involved for officiating matches in different sports and games.

College Sport Meet, 2019

The College Annual Sports Meet was held on 23.04.2019.  Lt Col. Sunil, S Pillai, Officer Commanding, Trichy the Chief Guest.  The individual championship for men was Mr. Nepoliyan, K  II year B.Sc.(Hons) Agri. and the individual championship for women was Ms. Nandana N I, II year B.Sc.(Hons) Agri. The overall championship goes to Yellow house.

  • The Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 25-04-2018. Thiru. S. Vijayaraj, M.Sc (Agri.),Assistant General Manager,State Bank of India Main Branch, Tiruchirappalli was the Chief Guest and graced the function.
  • The Flood Light facilities were established at Basketball and Volleyball Courts
  • Kho-Kho team (women) got winners in the TNAU-ICT held at TNAU, Coimbatore from 16-04-2018 to 20-04-2018.
  • Jothi of III year got gold medal in 400 mts run and bronze medal in 800 mts run respectively in the TNAU-ICT held at TNAU, Coimbatore from 16-04-2018 to 20-04-2018.
  • 400 m relay team got gold medal in the TNAU-ICT held at TNAU, Coimbatore from 16-04-2018 to 20-04-2018.
  • Harini of I Bsc.(Hons) Agriculture got bronze medal in 3rdEverest open International Taekwondo-Championship held at Dilibazar, Kathmandu, Nepal on 21-09-2018 & 22-09-2018.
  • Harini of I BSc.(Hons) Agriculture participated in 27th   National WUSHU Championship  held at Shillong, Megalaya from 10-10-2018 to 15-10-2018.
  • Three students from Anbil Dharmalimgam Agricultural College and Research Institute represented TNAU sports team and participated in 18th All India Inter Agricultural Universities Sports and Games  held at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore from 30-01-2018 to 03-02-2018.
