Library

The face is the index of the mind; so is the Library for a college. Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years. It is not, then, an article of mere consumption, but fairly of capital and often in the case of professional men, setting out in life, it is their only capital.

The AEC & RI, KumulurLibrary was established on 21^st June, 2001. It is housed in the Ground floor, separate Building with an area of 4144.14sq.ft, (385sq.m) with 60 seating capacity. It has a comprehensive collection of B. Tech, M.Tech&Ph.D Agricultural Engineering and its allied subjects to meet the present and future information needs for the students and the faculty.

The Library has a total collection of 17,989 volumes of books, 20 No’s of Audio visual, 50 No’s of CD’s as well 50 Nos. of General knowledge CD’s for the disciplines of Farm Machinery and power, Soil and water conservation engineering, Agricultural processing and Basic Science, Bio energy, Agricultural science.

The books related to Agronomy, Soil science, and general awareness for competitive examinationsis also available in the Library. Utmost care is taken in developing and maintaining the resources of each department.

PG Library section was renovated in the mezzanine floor of the same building with covered area of 1936.80sq.ft. (180sq.m)and provided 50 Nos. of seating capacity.In Addition, the Surveillance System is equipped in the library for monitoring the user activities and Wi-Fi facility are also enabled in the library for e-Resource access.

Further the newly established IOA, Kumulur college’s Diploma Course materials of nearly 1500 books arealso stacked separately and maintained.

Separate section exclusively for periodicals is available in our library where we are displaying 07 nos. of subscribed periodicals.  The Library also has the facility of e- Resource like e- Books and e-journals, subscribes for more than 3000 e-journals and has a good collection of CDs/DVDs in various subjects related to all the departments.

The books are all bar-coded and computerized using the help of AutoLib library automation Software for easy access to user of this college. Major services  of all the library transactions such us Issue, Return, Renewal and Reservations are automated plus Touch screen /OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) search facility is provided for the best usage of the library.

Part of the Circulation section along with, News paper section, Reference reading room, Property counter, Notice Boards, Registration for membership are also available on the ground floor for easy approach of the users based on their needs.

1719 nos. of Back Volumes of Land and water management, Farm Machinery & Power – Bio- Energy are also maintained separately, 6 Nos. of subscribed News papersand Project reports of B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D Agricultural Engineering are kept in the same section for the user reference.
