The Doctoral programme Ph. D (Agricultural Engineering) in Farm Machinery and Power Engineering is offered by the Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, AEC & RI, TNAU Coimbatore. The course work of the programme will be carried out Coimbatore campus. However, research work of the student may be carried out at AEC &RI Coimbatore campus or Kumulur, Trichy campus as per his/her choice.

Doctoral Courses
After admission, the students undergo a set of courses that help them understand the basics of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering as per choice based credit system (CBCS) with a total credit load of 100 credits of which 75 credits are exclusively earmarked for their thesis research.
Doctoral thesis research
After completing the courses in the first year, the students start their research. Each Student is assigned to an experienced faculty, approved by the Dean of School of Post Graduate Studies, who guide the student on his/her choice of research topic.
Research Internship
Ph. D students are encouraged to have internship training at other institutes for a couple of months, either in India or abroad. Furthermore, the students are exposed to several scientific events like symposia, workshops, trainings and conferences.
