Dr.B.Shridar Ph.D., Professor (Farm machinery) and Dean, AEC&RI, TNAU, Coimbatore, is having 33 years of vast experience in teaching, research and extension at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Served as Professor and Head, Agricultural Machinery Research Centre, TNAU, Coimbatore. Worked as Principal Investigator of ICAR, AICRP on FIM scheme, Revolving fund scheme and Testing centre for testing of Agricultural equipments. Served as Associate Editor for Madras Agricultural Journal and served as Technical Editor (Agricultural Engineering) for Valarum Velanmai published by TNAU. He had also worked as Research Engineer, ICAR, AICRP on Power tillers and its matching equipment and put major efforts in inventing many attachments to Power tiller.

 He had developed and released many implements that have been popularized among the farmers. Paddy power weeder, New steering system for power tiller trailer system, tractor operated turmeric rhizome planter are some of the recent inventions. He had also conducted one Winter School on Farm Machinery.

 He had handled number of courses for B.Sc. (Agri), B.Tech(Ag.Engg), B.Tech(Food process Engineering), B.Tech(Energy and Environmental Engineering), M.Tech(Farm machinery), Ph.D (Farm machinery) and ODL programmes. He had guided Under Graduate students, Post graduate students and Ph.D., students in the Field of Farm power and machinery. He had published research publications International level, National level, popular articles, practical manuals etc., He had worked as Ward counselor, Under graduate year coordinator, Post graduate Coordinator and Staff Advisor at Agricultural Engineering college & Research Institute, Coimbatore.

In addition, he is serving as UGC member for the Advisory Committee for Deen Dayal Upadhyay – Kaushal Kendra of Gandhi gram Rural Institute, Dindugul, Tamilnadu and served as technical advisory committee member for the Mechanization project of Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur.

Received the ISAE fellow award from 54th Annual Convention of ISAE and International Symposium on “Artificial Intelligence Based Future Technologies in Agriculture” during 7th January 2020 to 9th January 2020.
